Mail arnaque location long terme via booking

Je m’appelle Isabella Maria Rodriguez – et je suis propriétaire de l’appartement – 2 chambres, 1 salle de bain – 60 m2 à l’adresse : 40 Av. de Colmar, 67100 Strasbourg , très lumineux, dans un quartier calme et de bons voisins.
Mon mari et moi avons acheté l’appartement comme investissement en 2019. L’appartement peut être loué pour un minimum de 2 mois à un maximum de 10 ans, mais je préfère le louer à long terme.
L’appartement est comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos : https://myalbum.com/album/QFLxDWs27PnGgc/ . Les charges (place de parking, frais de communauté, eau, gaz, électricité, internet Wifi, etc.) sont comprises dans le prix de 575 euros/mois. Je demande également un dépôt de garantie de 1’000 euros.
L’appartement sera soigneusement désinfecté par une entreprise de nettoyage professionnelle avant d’être loué.

Tout d’abord, j’aimerais en savoir plus sur vous (âge, que faites-vous), combien de personnes habiteront l’appartement et pour combien de temps ? J’ai toujours loué mes propriétés via Booking.com car c’est une entreprise de profil. Faites-moi savoir si vous êtes intéressé, et je vous guiderai tout au long du processus de location.

P.S: J’espère que vous comprenez le texte, car il a été traduit sur Internet. Pour une meilleure communication, veuillez répondre en Anglais, si possible. Nous sommes un couple Espagnol, au fait 🙂

On the beggining of 2024 i will be transfer in (ville française) for the (travail actuel). My boyfriend is 35 years old and he follow me, he has his (…) so he can work at any place.
We know each other since (..) years and we live together for (…) years now.
We are looking for a nice place to start our new life in (ville française) and your appartement looks pretty good so it will be for at least 1 year or more.

You seem like a lovely person, and I would be more than happy to have you as my tenant ! 🙂

As I said in my previous e-mail, we will use an authorized third party to intermediate our transaction – Booking.com

Here is how the process works for long-term rentals:

– I activate the ad on booking.com and send you the link for the reservation
– You will have to make the reservation only for one month. Then, Booking will send you the invoice and the payment instructions for 1 month rent + the security deposit (EUR 575 + EUR 1’000 = EUR 1’575)

The moment booking.com confirms the receipt of your payment, I will book the first flight and meet with you for the inspection of the apartment.

After our meeting, if you decide to rent the apartment, we will go to a notary or to a real estate agency and make the long term rental agreement, for any period you want, or for an unlimited period. The rental contract is fully flexible, in order to suit both of our needs, so if you want to add something in the contract, or remove something from it, we can do it, I am a reasonable person, no need to worry about anything :). At this point, after all the legal documents are finalized, you will have to authorize Booking to release the funds to me.

If, after the inspection of the apartment, you decide that you don’t want to rent it (for any reason whatsoever), Booking will refund you the money in full, as the cancellation policy is fully flexible. (I am more than certain that you will fall in love with the apartment, anyway 🙂 ).

Please note that this reservation on Booking is only a formality, and a one time transaction, and this is the only way that will convince me to come and meet with you. Unfortunately, a previous « tenant » made me fly for nothing 3 weeks ago, and decided not to answer his phone when I arrived …

After the first month, the rest of the monthly payments will be sent directly to me. We will discuss all the rest details in person, if you decide to rent it.

I hope you understand the steps of the transaction, you will NOT send the money to me, you will send it to Booking. I can’t have access to the funds without your authorization, so you are 100% protected. Your payment will be locked into the custody of Booking, until you decide if you want to rent the apartment or not.
So basically, you have nothing to lose, and I also have the certitude that you are indeed serious about this.

If you agree with my terms and conditions, I will need the following information from you, so that I can activate the ad on Booking, and provide you the link for the reservation:

1. Your desired move-in date, along with the period of stay
2. Name and number of the persons that want to stay in the apartment
3. Mobile phone number
4. A copy of your ID/Passport

I spoke with my husband, and we would like to inform you that if you make the reservation on Booking for 6 months now, we will lower the monthly rent with 30%.

elle m’a contacté directement par mail. Au début je me suis dit que je l’avais peut être déjà contacté ( qd tu cherches un appart sur internet tu fais beaucoup BEAUCOUP de demandes) mais le prix était très bas et l’appart un peu suspect sur les photos : très moderne et design mais aussi avec un petit quelque chose de non réaliste, comme si c’était une image crée par une IA… Je lui répond tout de même dans le doute, l’affaire était trop belle, mais sans lui donner trop de détails perso. Elle a totalement ignore la proposition d’appel en me proposant direct que j’avais l’air bien et qu’elle était ok et me donnant les indications pour la suite : donner mes papiers d’identité faire une réservation long terme sur booking payer un dépôt de garantie … Tout est suspect dans son mail : c’est elle qui rentre en contact avec moi, elle ne demande aucun justificatif (salaire etc ..) et accepter direct ma « candidature ». Et surtout un rabais sur un prix déjà dérisoire à la fin m’a fait vérifier sur internet et en effet l’arnaque à la location long terme booking existe et je n’aurais jamais vu ni argent ni appartement. J’ai tapé également son adresse mail et c’est bien une arnaque …
